Net Pay: How much will you really get paid?

The net pay given by an Umbrella company will vary only marginally, in theory only as much as their fees.

In a recent study we found nearly 90% of Umbrella companies deliver a net pay amount to within a £10 margin.

In this section we judge each Umbrella company on how much net pay they will deposit in your bank account.

Each Umbrella company was given the following criteria to quote a net pay figure on:
  • £25ph
  • 8 hours per day
  • 5 days a week
  • 50 mile daily return journey
  • £5 a day lunch
  • Weekly invoicing

Fees: How much will it really cost you?

As every Umbrella company has a different pricing structure it's sometimes difficult to know who gives best value for money, and then compare like for like.

If a company advertises a weekly fee of £20 you'd probably expect to pay £80 a month.

But you don't simply multiply by four weeks for the monthly cost. The way Umbrella companies work is to, multiply by 52 (weeks in a year) and divide by 12 (months). So, you'll actually be paying £86.67 every month.
